maRia aRistidou was born in Limassol, Cyprus. From the early years of her studies in Economics she discovered and developed, with a great persistence as a self-learner, her passion for fashion design.
Maria Aristidou Couture designs are contemporary, chic, stylish and elegant. Each piece is carefully constructed and tailored giving it the superior quality, couture hand finish. The designer derives her details in pleating, hand draping and personally crafting Swarovski embroideries. She always on the look out for finding new techniques and collaborating with artists that can provide that unique look on the fabrics used.
Since she moved back to Cyprus in 2000, maRia aRistidou Couture evolved a full fletched desinging freelance work for both men and women under the lines of maRis® and maRia aRistidou deSigns®.
The designer has had successful showings not only in her home country of Cyprus, but also New York for philanthropic causes such as UNICEF, Target Breast Cancer, Hospitalised Veterans and in Paris for participating in Paris Pret A Porter A/W 07-08 as well as in the Haute Couture Fashion Week A/W 08-09.
